AmazonPrimeDay Bashing Was Fun, But Sales Are Up

But sales have increased by 80%!

Amazon has promised that #AmazonPrimeDay on July 15 will have “more deals than Black Friday.” Unfortunately, it did not happen that way and buyers used social media to to complain, with hashtags including #PrimeDayFail, that the offers were more like a bad garage sale.

There were few good deals and many of the deals were downright strange. But the strangest of all must be the giant 55 gallon blue drum of All natural Passion lubricant.

No, it’s not from The Onion

Here is the description of the product:

“What are you going to do with all this lubricant ?! Wrestling fight? The biggest party for adults ever? If you are looking for a breathtaking amount of lubricant, Passion Natural water-based lubricant is ready to have fun with this 55 gallon drum! With its superb formula, you will have a natural feeling that keeps you moist longer and also works great with all toy materials. Wash easily with warm water and mild soap. You may never run out of lubricant again! Size: 55 gallons. Note: includes the pump. Shipped by freight due to the weight limit. “

The original price was $ 2,500, but for #PrimeDay, you can get a deal:
Sale: $ 1361.80 ($ 1361.80 / Number) & FREE delivery
You save: $ 1,138.20 (46%)

The ingredients for a party

Oh, and Amazon noted that customers who viewed Passion Lube also saw a 40 lb. case of dehydrated marshmallows and an Oldie vinyl mask for men. There’s the makings of a party, if there ever was one.

As Mashable reported, #PrimeDay also offered chef hats, grandma panties, beard producers and snoring treatments.

Then there was LURE home Lip Plumper and wrinkle reducer. Principal members could save 40% off the list price and fatten their lips for only $ 14.97.

“Use the old vacuum cup secret to quickly and easily plump your lips in minutes!” the product page promises with enthusiasm. “Non-invasive with effects that can last up to several hours!”

Despite complaints, sales soared

According to Forbes, Adobe followed the social mentions of “Amazon Prinme Day” and “From 1 p.m. EST, 10 hours after the sale, “Amazon Prime Day” had been mentioned 90,000 times on social networks, with more than 50% feeling related to “sadness”.

Unhappy buyers complained loudly, and often hilariously, that the offers were boring, that the savings were minor, and that all that was worth it had been sold. Unless you want a Diane Keaton XXL T-shirt, Adam Sandler DVDs, socks or chef hats.

However, TechCrunch Reports that Amazon’s sales for the day increased 80% in the United States and 40% in Europe. And Amazon said earlier today that its peak Prime Day order rates had exceeded Black Friday 2014. By midday, the company said Prime members had already purchased tens of thousands of Fire TV sticks, 35,000 Lord of the Rings Blu-Ray sets, 28,000 Rubbermaid sets and 4,000 Echo devices in just 15 minutes. A Kate Spade handbag disappeared in less than a minute, and it sold 1,200 TV sets for $ 999 in less than 10 minutes.

Go figure!
