This Frase review was inspired by a special offer I received from AppSumo. You can check out this amazing offer here.
What is Frase?
Frase.io is an AI-powered tool that identifies questions your audience is asking and creates in-depth content briefs for answer-driven, SEO-friendly content.
How to use Frase step by step
Use Frase as a content planning tool. Its AI feature extracts data from the top performing content on a particular search term. Based on this information, Frase tells you the length of your article on the same topic, as well as the relevant keywords and sub-topics to include in your content.
Refine the title of your article by putting your keyword in the question area.
This is your first visit, so don’t think too much about it.
In the question results, a bunch of good keyword rich titles appear – you can start tweaking your title based on the questions you see in the right corner. You can now start the article writing process.
Download the keywords under “Themes” to find out which keywords and how often I should mention them
You can use the downloaded spreadsheet (as I listed here), or you can use the onscreen blocks (which you can see in the image below).
Go to the “Questions” and “Links” tab, open all the links and browse the best articles in the niche
Frase will draw the most popular articles on the subject. These articles are doing something right. Your job is to take what they offer and find ways to improve that content. What was not answered? Do you have another more useful answer? Can you add images or infographics to enhance the content in any way?
Look for the high or recurring
or subtitles and start a potential subtitle scan file and note the URL
Organize your subheadings so that they have a logical flow. You can use the Frase editor to draft your content. Remember, it doesn’t have to be perfect, you just have to flush out the item.
Write 3 to 5 sentences under each subheading. People are skimmers and will stop and read the text under a caption that interests them. An easy way to do this is to use text to speech on your computer or phone to capture your natural way of speaking.
Frase also pulls proper stats which will not only give your content credibility, but also give you the ability to link to other highly respected sites.
Use the Optimize feature to “rate” your content
The optimization feature allows you to copy and paste the draft content you wrote into the Frase editor and see what improvements need to be made.
You can also use this optimization feature to update and improve an already published article:
Use the “News” tab to link to the latest stories
The “News” tab will help me find all the relevant news articles I can view and possibly a link to if this is a high ranking or credible site.
An alternative to MarketMuse and Clearscope
Until Frase came along, your only choices for getting this kind of content optimization help were MarketMuse and Clearscope. These two platforms are exponentially more expensive. MarketMuse sells for $ 500 per month and Clearscope starts at $ 200 per month. While these prices may be reasonable for an SEO content agency, they are out of the reach of solopreneurs looking for similar features.
AppSumo Lifetime Offer vs Retail Offer
This is a ridiculous reduction compared to the list price offer currently available on the Frase site,
The AppSumo Frase review offer offers you 100 searches per month. That’s more than the $ 39 / month offer of 30 searches per month and “less” than the $ 99 / month offer of unlimited searches. I am a power user, and I don’t think I would hit 100 per month if I tried.
In other words, the lifetime license will save you around $ 468 per year.
Frase review summary
Frase is a simple and affordable content creation, curation and optimization tool. Ideal for cash-strapped content marketers, small agencies, and small business owners.
Super affordable and feature rich
Easy to learn and use out of the box
Exceptional retention features
Also contains an “assistant” which can collect customer questions directly from your site
Create thematic briefs and share them with the outsourced editors of your team
This is a new platform and can get a bit wobbly.
There are a lot of features and you will find yourself clicking from tab to tab. It might be nice to have workflow or wizard functionality.
So much versatility that it will take time to learn.
Training materials and tutorials are a bit superficial.
